Established in 1975 and headquartered in Dubai, the company is solely owned by Ali Saeed Juma Albwardy and is the holding company for all the varied businesses owned wholly or in joint venture by Mr. Albwardy.

The hotel operations span Europe, South America, Africa and the Middle East whilst many businesses are based in the region. The regionally based retail businesses of Spinneys, Waitrose and Al Fair, now number over 80 outlets and continue to expand whilst the substantial FMCG distribution unit covers both the UAE and Oman.

We have joint ventures in our ship yard business with Damen of Holland, in our labeling and packaging division with CCL of Canada, in our insurance business with Nasco Karaoglan of France and in some hotels with HPL of Singapore.
